Andrea White is a dedicated funeral director and the third-generation owner of Mt. Scott Funeral Home, a distinguished family business with roots dating back to the 1920’s. Continuing the legacy established by her grandfather, Edward White, and upheld by her father, Dennis White, Andrea is committed to maintaining the values of professionalism and compassion that have defined Mt. Scott for generations.
With a deep respect for her family's heritage, Andrea embraces the principles of the "Golden Rule," ensuring that every family receives the same level of compassion, professionalism, and integrity that she would expect for her own loved ones. Her dedication to maintaining these high standards reflects the enduring commitment of both her grandfather and her father, Dennis White, who have been instrumental in shaping the values of Mt. Scott Funeral Home.
In her personal life, Andrea is a very happy mother to two children. She values time spent with her family, as well as with her dogs and friends, which brings balance and joy to her life. Her personal and professional values are deeply intertwined, reflecting a commitment to both her family’s legacy and her role in serving the community with respect and empathy.
Rebecca Tjaarda is a dedicated professional with over two decades of experience at Mt. Scott Funeral Home. Starting her career as an apprentice in 2000 and balanced work with her studies, graduating from Mt. Hood Community College’s Department of Mortuary Science in 2002. As the Manager of the funeral home, Rebecca oversees daily operations to make certain that each family receives compassionate care during their time of need.
In addition to her managerial duties, she is a licensed funeral director and embalmer, facilitating every aspect of the funeral process is handled with care. She is committed to providing personalized support to each family, guiding them through the process with sensitivity and respect.
As our pre-planning specialist, Rebecca guides clients through the thoughtful process of making their arrangements well in advance, ensuring peace of mind that their wishes are clearly documented and that their families will be cared for during difficult times. Her commitment to the community extends beyond the funeral home, as she leads outreach initiatives that include educational seminars, workshops, presentations, and in-home gatherings.
Outside of her professional life, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her two Rottweilers who bring so much joy. Her commitment to both her work and her pets reflects her caring and devoted nature, making her a respected and trusted figure in her community.
Chelsea Kevan is a compassionate funeral director and embalmer. Originally from the Bay Area, her journey in the funeral service industry began as a student intern at Mt. Scott while she was pursuing her Mortuary Science degree at Mt. Hood Community College. She earned her degree in 2018 and immediately transitioned into her apprenticeship at Mt. Scott. Chelsea's hands-on experience and commitment during this time paved the way for her current role as funeral director and embalmer, where she serves families with respect and care.
Outside of her professional life, Chelsea enjoys spending time with her beloved cats and bunny, as well as with her friends and family. She finds solace in nature, which provides her with relaxation and a sense of balance.
Chelsea’s blend of compassion, expertise, and personal warmth makes her a treasured member of the Mt. Scott Funeral Home team. Her ability to provide compassionate support during times of loss reflects her deep commitment to her role and the community she serves.
Iraiza Sanchez is an attentive and passionate funeral director and embalmer committed to providing exceptional care and support to families during their times of need. An Oregon native, Iraiza began her professional journey as a student at Mt. Scott and graduated form the Mortuary Science program in 2021.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Iraiza takes pride in her ability to connect with and serve a diverse community, providing compassionate care and guidance to families in their time of need. Her bilingual skills help her to offer comfor and clarity to all those she assists.
Beyond her professional life, Iraiza enjoys spending quality time with her family and caring for her dogs, chickens, turtles, and bunny. She also has a passion for gardening, finding peace in nurturing the life around her.
Rachel Scarlett is an empathetic funeral director and embalmer. She has been passionately serving the death care industry since 2018. An Oregon native, Rachel pursued her calling to serve community by enrolling in the Mortuary Science program at Mt. Hood Community College, where she graduated in 2022.
Her deep connection to her roots and family informs her compassionate approach to her work ensuring that she treats every family with respect and dignity.
When she's not serving her community, Rachel enjoys spending time in nature, having cozy movie nights, and cooking for her loved ones. She also has a naughty pet rabbit who brings her lots of joy and laughter.
Matthew was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. He has worked in the Funeral Home/Cemetery field since 1999 and joined Mt. Scott Funeral Home in 2006 as the bookkeeper. He is an avid record collector that enjoys spending time with his family and cats.
